Job description

As part of Shaker’s Employer Brand Strategy team, the Senior Analyst plays a critical role in shaping how organizations attract, engage, and retain talent.

This role blends research planning and execution with strategic analysis and insights storytelling. The Senior Analyst will help uncover the human truths, tensions, and decision drivers that define the employment relationship — and translate them into actionable employer brand strategies.

This individual partners closely with client services, creatives, and clients to define the right questions, design and lead research programs, and turn complex data into clear, compelling narratives that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery

  • Partner with delivery team to deliver high-quality insights:
    • Translate client business problems into insightful research questions
    • Design custom research plans: identify methodologies, develop question sets, and create sample selection criteria
  • Define Research Strategy
    • Translate client business challenges into clear research objectives, hypotheses, and decision frameworks
    • Identify the most critical questions to answer – and measure
    • Design end-to-end research approaches aligned to client goals
  • Lead Research & Insight Generation
    • Design and execute surveys, interviews, focus groups, and diaries.
    • Synthesize multiple data sources (primary, secondary, syndicated) into a cohesive understanding of talent audiences
    • Maintain project management standards with regular timeline/milestone updates to the delivery team
  • Translate Insights into Strategy
    • Turn findings into clear, actionable insights that inform employer brand strategy, messaging, and experience design
    • Prepare and analyze primary survey data, identify opportunities for advanced analytics and modeling
    • Code and theme qualitative data and interview transcripts
    • Partner with the delivery team to connect insights to creative and activation decisions.
  • Impact Client Decisions through Storytelling
    • Develop compelling narratives that connect data to business implications.
    • Create insight-led deliverables (reports, frameworks, presentations) that are clear, structured, and visually engaging
    • Present deliverables live to clients both virtually and in-person

Product Development

  • Collaborate & Innovate
    • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (strategy, creative, client leadership) to maintain insights rigor and accountability
    • Identify new methods, tools, and approaches to advance Shaker's insights capabilities and new product offerings
    • Stay current on labor market trends, employer brand strategy, and evolving research methodologies

Qualifications

  • Experience: You must have specific experience (~7-10+ years) in research design and execution, data analysis, and data storytelling. We appreciate and value consulting firm experience in HR, strategy, or marketing, and/or in-house experience.
  • Research expertise: Strong experience across qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Platform and technology experience: comfort with leading research and analysis tools/platforms, including GenAI and LLMs
  • Storytelling: Exceptional ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives
  • Curiosity: Asks the right questions, challenges assumptions, and identifies what truly matters
  • Work execution: Deadline-driven, detail-oriented, and can independently manage and prioritize execution of work.
  • Smart sense of initiative: Always looking for ways to improve internal processes and exceed client expectations
  • Communication: Effectively uses written and spoken word, and can communicate in a concise, structured, professional, and courteous way‍.
