Seventy-five years ago, Shaker opened its doors with the idea that relationships matter, which led to a legacy spanning three-quarters of a century, countless industry shifts, the careers of our people, our clients, our partners, and the evolution of our industry as a whole.
Recently, we got to celebrate that legacy and to look forward to what’s next, together. Here’s a look at how we brought our 75th anniversary to life.
We built the 75th as a year-long brand moment designed to do two things: honor our legacy of innovation and articulate the impact we’ve had on the world of talent over 75 years.
The throughline for all of it was storytelling: through our people, our clients, our partners, and the industry friends who’ve shaped joined us in shaping the world of talent. That idea showed up everywhere this year: in our #FromTheVault social series, in Joe’s letters reflecting on Shaker’s journey, in content filmed in The Vision Lab, and in the 75th anniversary film, employee celebration, and client moments that anchored it all.
If you’ve ever looked closely at the Shaker logo, you’ve seen the four faces that make it up. Those four faces are intentional, representing the four groups this whole milestone was really about: our people, our clients, our partners, and the future we build together.
That emblem became the anchor for our entire 75th strategy. Every piece of content, and every moment of celebration this year was built around those four faces, a nod to the idea that Shaker’s story has never been ours alone to tell. It belongs to everyone who’s been part of it.
To mark the milestone, we produced a 75th anniversary video rooted in Shaker’s own archives: documentary-style footage tracing our evolution from Joe’s earliest days at the helm to the agency we are today. It’s a look at how much has changed in the world of talent, and how much of what makes Shaker Shaker hasn’t changed at all.
If you haven’t seen it yet (or want to watch it again), here it is:
This documentary-style film traces Shaker’s evolution from founder Joseph R. Shaker’s earliest days at the helm to the agency it is today, drawing on our own archives to tell Shaker’s 75-year-old story. It’s a tribute to the people, clients, and partners who’ve shaped our journey.
Thank you to the team behind the celebration
None of this—the strategy, the storytelling, the celebration—comes together without an extraordinary amount of work behind the scenes, done by extraordinary people. I’d like to give a proper thank-you to the Brand & Marketing team that spent the year bringing our 75th to life:
Callie Kesner, Director of Marketing, for steering the strategy from vision to execution
Kelly Farrar, Sr. Designer, for the visual identity that made 75 years feel unmistakably Shaker
Kate Price, Content Marketing Manager, for shaping our anniversary story that across every channel and piece of content
Ellia Melin, Marketing Generalist and Events Coordinator, the planning and logistics genius behind the celebration itself, down to every last detail
Olivia Langsdorf and Bella Moss, our summer interns who jumped in wherever the team needed them and did it with enthusiasm
Seventy-five years in, and it’s still our people who make Shaker worth celebrating. I’m most excited for what we’re building today and where we’re heading. Here’s to the next 75!
