The Employer Brand Reveal: And the Magic and the Pride that Comes With it (Every Time)

Blog

Last month marked my first business trip since Q1 2020.  It seems like one million years ago, and to put it mildly, an incredible amount of changes have taken place since this time.  Both personally, professionally, and societally, nothing is the same.

I am a different person – my family of five, is now a party of four.  We are a different world – a different country with both domestic and global divisiveness and upheaval. We are part of a talent market that has literally been turned upside down.

It felt odd to check in and receive my room key, along with a covid test (for which I’m grateful to have received – don’t get me wrong).  And then seeing people now in person who I’ve worked closely alongside via Teams chats, had the apprehensive…wait, uhhh, hmmm, can we hug? Do we elbow tap? Is fist bumping still a thing?  (p.s. we hugged).

The purpose of my visit was to share the EVP, EB, and communication tools to management and leadership.  We’ve been working on this project for two years starting with research and culminating with a suite of assets from talking points to a career site.

I was excited to nerd out over the great tools and share with attendees how awesome their company is.

This client spends a tremendous amount of time and resources being an employer of choice. It was a great honor to be able to share my outside perspective of how unique this team, this organization, and their impact truly is.

It felt good to dust off the ole overnight bag, throw on some professional wear and share back the incredible findings from the organization, as well as show off our team’s great work.  I hope it’s something current associates can take pride in and that prospective candidates can want to join.

I know it strengthened the pride I have in my team and our agency – the hustle we bring each day to share our clients’ stories and help them attract and retain the talent that makes their organizations do great things each day.
