Shaker has collaborated on a great many initiatives with this global biopharmaceutical company since 1992. In 2015, Merck turned to us for an audit of its global social media presence. Since then, we embarked on an employer brand journey-uncovering its EVP and expressing it in more than 1,000 branded assets, housed on a Shaker-designed portal with nearly 500 registered users. And that’s not all. In serving Merck globally, we have strategized and created diverse communications, and crafted branded campaigns for its new research laboratory in South San Francisco and its new IT hub in Austin, Texas. We look next to localizing on the global level.

Internal Communications

GTA Brand Central is the go-to resource for all things Merck and MSD employer brand-from collateral and print, to social media and images, to exhibit and premium materials. More than 435 registered users visit more than 3,000 times each month. The site houses Campus Recruiting Central, a portal we designed especially for Merck's campus recruiters. We also collaborate with Merck Research Laboratories on an internal site showcasing the talented employees of MRL.

Targeted Initiatives

MRL South San Francisco automatically qualified, routed, and invited 1,150 registrants through marketing that incorporated boosted posts, HTML email blasts, articles and ads, and event banners. We most recently branded Merck's newest Austin IT hub with specially designed creative to connect with this distinct audience.

Social

Shaker works closely with Merck to elevate and activate its social presence through content curation, management, boosted social, and talent communities. The impact has been dramatic. Across all KPIs, in 2017 Merck experienced significant growth in follower count (more than 100,000 total followers added), impressions (triple-digit increases on all four channels) and engagement (triple-digit increases on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). We also created custom LinkedIn Life company pages for targeted countries and functional areas.
