Since the summer of social justice, companies have had to take an honest look at who they are and the culture they want to create for everyone, especially marginalized employees. When it comes to diversity equity and inclusion, it’s not enough to make magnanimous commitment statements. There needs to be action behind the words. At Shaker we believe that centering our efforts on the improvement of the lived experiences of our employees leads to cultivating an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive. Reporting to the VP Global Employer Brand Diversity & Culture, in this new role, the Sr. Manager, Diversity & Culture will help build Shaker’s DEI infrastructure across the areas of Representation, Authenticity, and Development. You’ll lead a team whose mission is to address culture gaps, improve lived experiences, and increase cultural competency across the organization. How is this role different than other DEI roles out there, you might ask? While DEI is a journey, we have a very clear destination and want you to help us arrive there as an expert in the driver’s seat. Your commitment to the outcomes for marginalized talent will be fully supported by our executive leadership team and you’ll find yourself on the cutting edge of DEI research that will help to move the entire industry forward. Your track record of success and reliance on the data that is available will help you implement a DEI strategy that drives sustainable change. Your dedication to culture transformation will help build a community of practice for diversity, equity, and inclusion for Shaker’s internal staff.
