April Job Market Updates: Shaker’s Take

The recruitment marketing landscape remains challenging for employers. The number of job openings well exceeds the number of Americans seeking work, now for the thirteenth month in a row.

Job growth over the past three months is lower than average—this may be an indication that the current general labor shortage as well as shortage for candidates with certain skills is creating challenges for employers to fill certain positions.

The Labor Department reports that, as of March 31, there were 7.49 million unfilled job openings—that’s 1.28 million more open jobs than available unemployed people. Check out the infographic for some more key statistics to keep in mind.
