College Recruitment Campaign
Chicago-area accounting firm, Wolf & Company wanted a memorable way to reach out to students with its college recruiting efforts at four Midwestern universities. Shaker developed a concept based on commonly-used accounting terms such as “extinguishment of debt”, “fringe benefits”, “convertible stock”, and more – which are clear to people who understand accounting “language”, but to non-speakers, can conjure up creative images. Using the headline, “We’re Looking for People Who Speak Our Language”, Shaker designed individual postcards for each school with unique QR codes and customized URLs linking to a jump page with information about Wolf’s internships, job opportunities, culture, benefits, and more. Shaker commissioned a technical illustrator to create whimsical versions of the accounting terms, geared to attract a closer look from the viewer. The postcards will be handed out at recruiting events to interested students, who are typically not interested in carrying around heavy brochures. Since each school’s postcard has its own URL, Wolf will be able to assess the traffic from each school using Google Analytics. The jump page is built responsively to adapt to mobile, tablet, or desktop viewing, with a rotation of the four custom illustrations. The jump page also includes a customizable event calendar for Wolf staff to add information about upcoming career events, interviews, and presentations.
