Shaker is an independent, privately held agency, owned and operated by the Shaker family. Shaker was founded in 1951 by Joseph R. Shaker and is managed by second-generation Shakers, with third-generation Shakers actively involved today.

Shaker is headquartered just outside Chicago in Oak Park, Illinois, and has a full-service branch office in Tampa, Florida.
